No, not you, your pets!
As you may be aware, we regularly seek a different ingredient as the active component of our recommended flea and tick protection program. Why? Within just a few generations, fleas and ticks become immune to the active ingredients being used to thwart their survival. It has been awhile since we have had anything really new to tell you about. We do, and so, that is why this letter.
Our concern is not just about your pet’s health, but that of your family as well. Fleas and ticks are vectors (they transmit disease between species) of a number of diseases (Lyme disease, Erlichiosis, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, to name just a few). So our first line of defense is to control fleas and ticks in our environment and on our pets.
Sadly, freezing temperatures do not kill Fleas of Ticks. They survive comfortably on the wildlife (deer, raccoons, squirrel) that share our yards and common areas. Whenever the temperature pops up above 45 degrees, new ones emerge and look for a new “home” (host).
