Michigan law requires all puppies to be licensed by four months of age.
To purchase a dog license, your pet’s rabies vaccination must be current and not within 30 days of expiration.
If you’re unsure about your pet’s vaccination status, give us a call at (989) 856-3525 — we can check our records and let you know if your pet is due for an update or if they’re eligible to purchase a license right away.
If your dog’s rabies vaccination is up to date, no appointment is necessary to purchase a license — just bring proof of current rabies vaccination and the appropriate licensing fee.
License Fees:
- 🗓 December 1 – February 28: $15.00 if spayed/neutered, $20.00 if not.
- 🗓 March 1 – November 30: $40.00 — licenses during this period MUST be purchased at the Huron County Treasurer’s Office in Bad Axe.
